2016-12-09 The Moon – 8 Days old and including the craters Plato and Copernicus and Mare Imbrium. The Apollo 15 Landing Site is also in this image, which was the result of stacking 3307 video frames (about one minute).

2016-12-09: Sunrise on the Moon at Sinus Iridum. Looking somewhat like a prominence on the edge of the Sun, the foot of the crater rim (and half the floor of the crater) was in darkness but the upper parts were in sunlight. See also the mountain shadows, lower left. This image is the result of stacking 6078 frames from a two minute video. Sinus Iridum is also visible in the two other shots on this page.
