Macarthur Astronomical Society

Established in 1996

Macarthur Astronomical Society is based in South West Sydney, Australia. It organises the Macarthur Astronomy Forum, held at Western Sydney University, Campbelltown, with guest speakers from the world of astronomy who have included professional astronomers from Australia and overseas; a Nobel Prize Winner; and a NASA astronaut.

MAS also organises regular public observing nights, often in collaboration with Campbelltown Rotary Observatory.

I am one of the Founder Members. I was Honorary Secretary from 2008 – 2012; Observatory Sub-committee Convener from 2012 – 2014; Constitution Review Convenor 2011; MAS Website Content Editor continuously since 2008; Webmaster from May 2017; contributor to Prime Focus magazine and a few other things, including Returning Officer.
